Shi Ying Boat is also known as Shi Ying Glass, and Shi Ying Glass is made of silica-containing substances such as crystal and silica.  Silicon tetroxide is made by high-temperature melting of raw materials.  Its silica content is much higher than that of ordinary glass, and that of ordinary Shi Ying glass is 99.999 %.  Shi Ying glass has excellent optical properties. It not only has excellent visible light transmittance, but also transmits ultraviolet rays and infrared rays.

 Shi Ying glass is a good acid-resistant material. Besides hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid above 300 degrees, it is resistant to sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, aqua regia, neutral salts, carbon and sulfur at high temperatures. Its chemical stability is 30 times that of acid-resistant ceramics and 150 times that of nickel-chromium alloys and ceramics. It is resistant to high temperature, heat shock and thermal expansion coefficient is particularly small.

 Shi Ying glass has excellent electrical properties. At normal temperature, its resistance is 10 times that of ordinary glass. Its dielectric loss to all frequencies is very small and its insulation withstand voltage strength is high.

 Shi Ying glass also has the properties of resistance to cosmic radiation and impermeability to nuclear fission products.
